There are real benefits to being the creative director, photographer, writer and designer for a publication. Integrating the concept with the photography, words and design is a process that starts before I travel and continues throughout the life of the project. The result is a unified vision: all of the elements in the book work together to tell the story. There are also very practical benefits for clients in this way of working: they have only one person to liaise with, one person to contract, and one person to send to the field — a solution that is both cost effective and easier to manage.
